Message statuses
Where a message is in its journey.
Every message has a status. It changes as the message moves to the recipient's phone: queued, then sent, then a final status.
| Status | Final | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
queued | No | Accepted and waiting to be sent. |
sent | No | Handed to the mobile network. |
delivered | Yes | The network confirmed it reached the phone. |
undelivered | Yes | The network could not deliver it, for example because the phone was off for too long or the number is inactive. |
failed | Yes | It could not be sent. |
expired | Yes | No delivery report arrived within 24 hours. |
When a message ends as undelivered, failed or expired, errorCode gives the reason.
Refunds
If a message fails before it reaches the network, its cost is returned to your wallet automatically. The message.failed webhook includes refunded, so you know whether a refund was made.
